Quoting C. Owen Lovejoy, Kent State University anthropologist, a member of the Middle Awash (Ethiopia) team on the discovery of 4.4 million year old female, Ardipithecus ramidus whose canine teeth are relatively stubby compared with the sharp, dagger-like upper fangs that male chimps and gorillas use to do battle. And to quote Time magazine again, same page: “ The male canine tooth is no longer projecting or sharp, It’s no longer weaponry.”

Dr. Owen's use of “mated preferentially” is another way of saying, “mated by choice,” or “sexually selected” as in “sexual selection” (Darwin’s “other” theory).

However, most EFers are firm believers in the 40/60 percentage combination of nature/nurture, with nurture, or the socially constructed view of male/female separation winning the culture wars, thus the term, gender is more acceptable and more "polite" when writing to the general audience.

Like the famous political statement attributed to Jim Carville to then, candidate, Bill Clinton about the core belief of the people's reason to vote: It's the economy stupid." So, too, in evolutionary thought that "It's about the resources, people." Which morphs to the evolutionary feminist's credo: "It's about the children, stupid!"

Therefore: if sexual selection is the primary driving evolutionary force in human reproduction, then the female’s decision about her body and reproductive choice, is inviolable. Bumper sticker view: pro-choice is inviolable.

On September 07, 2009 at 5:25am MST, while working on new, more simpler explanation to the question above, the power in my home was shut off and restored within seconds. My son-in-law and I both agree that Comcast.net was working on a power transfers related to moving utilities for the future construction of the light rail that will pass near our home in 2013. Even though power was returned, connection to the internet was lost for over four hours.

After attempting to resume my rewrite, I discovered that the main entryway to this section -- What is Evolutionary Feminism? -- was lost. That was just the front doorway; 80% of the information is still saved, but it has to be all put back on the front entryway page. Perhaps, some 12 hours of future work has to be re-done.

They tell me that things like this happen for a reason, and if that is the case then I believe that God or whatever power is out there wants an updated piece of work.

And so, it shall be. I will make an attempt to have most of it completed by October 12, 2009
